Trainers will come to client’s home to pick up the dog & observe the atmosphere of the home training environment. At least one hour should be allocated for this process. During the one week, the dog will attend at least 4 obedience training classes in our group training facility and the dog will be worked by 2 other professional trainers to get more hands on the dog.
The foundational obedience addressed during your dog’s 1 week stay will be: Heeling on a loose Leash, automatic sit, sit stay, down, and down stay, place command (laying down until allowed to move), no jumping (‘OFF’), door work (In and Out Slow), crate training, loading in and out of cars, car rides, distraction resistance from: Food, Cats, other dogs, toys, dog & cat socialization, and the ‘leave it’ command to encourage basic manners. All negative behaviors such as jumping, nipping, and biting will be addressed and worked on during the entire week of training. We begin all foundation obedience behavior but if there are specific items of compliance you want/need as detailed in the questionnaire.
At the time of drop off, all owners/handlers must make themselves available to receive the dog and take part in a mandatory training session. This is time dedicated to teaching you what the dog has learned and how you will continue the training toward pet success! Do allow at least 2-3 hours for this training time. Plan for any adult handlers/owners to take part and consider making arrangements for childcare to give your full attention to the training.
